SEIC at the C-Days in Bilbao with a talk on medicinal cannabis and mental health

The Spanish Society for Cannabinoid Research (SEIC) took part in a new edition of the C-Days, held at the University of the Basque Country (EHU), an event aimed at promoting scientific outreach and bringing research closer to the university community and society at large.

Within the framework of these meetings, Paula Unzueta, a member of SEIC, delivered a talk in which she addressed key aspects of current research in the field of cannabinoids, highlighting the importance of a scientific and rigorous approach to understanding the role of the endocannabinoid system in human health.

During her presentation, Unzueta emphasized the work carried out in academic and research settings to advance knowledge of the mechanisms of action of cannabinoids, as well as their potential applications in different biomedical contexts. She also stressed the need to continue fostering outreach initiatives that facilitate the transfer of scientific knowledge to society, helping to dispel myths and promote an evidence-based perspective.

The CDays have thus become a key meeting point for researchers, students, and the general public, encouraging critical thinking and interest in science through talks, debates, and outreach activities. The participation of SEIC members in initiatives of this kind reflects the society’s commitment to knowledge dissemination and to the promotion of high-quality research in the field of cannabinoids.

From SEIC, the involvement of its members in scientific outreach events such as the CDays is highly valued, as these initiatives help to showcase the research carried out at universities and research centers and to strengthen the dialogue between science and society.
